I have tried and tried, gone through every file I could possibly think of and see with Notepad++, but I guess there isn't a file like that. Does anyone know how to edit building costs, inflation rates, etc.?

    Thanks! :)

Maybe you will find the answer on the forum of Cossacks world, they have an entire sub forum for American Conquest modding :

Sorry I can't help you much more, I don't have any knowledge of modding
    good luck !

Ahh, I can't post there unless I make 3 posts, that's annoying lol.

Normally in the .md files for each object.
    - building costs would be for example:
    PRICE 4 WOOD 65500 GOLD 45050 IRON 53000 COAL 47200
(4 values, the type and price)
    - inflation rate:

I cannot find any .md files, only .m3d files, and when I open them in notepad++, I get this. Which folder are the .md files in for American Conquest Fight Back? I did find a userpiece folder which contained many .smp files, but they also open in the same manner as the .m3d files. I do not know how to edit them.

You need the file utility to unpack the All.gsc file where you can find what Ebel is talking about.

Just Google American Conquest modding tools to find the program.

Thank you very much for the response. It took some fiddling around due to admin rights issues, but I finally got the file utility program and am currently extracting the files. Wish me luck! :) God bless y'all for helping me. I'll be sure to post here if I have any further questions.

So, I have edited, which is the Pueblo Town building. The only thing I changed (as I wanted as few variables as possible) is the cost percent inflation, which I changed from 10000 to 100, simply to test. I generated it, named it mods01.gs1, and placed it inside my ACFB/Data folder, but the changes have not been made. What do I need to do to make the change occur? Thank you again!

I forgot to mention that you might also want to extract the patch01.gs1 after the All file since it has changes to files you might want to have.

As far as using the changes in game goes, the mods.gs1 file goes directly in your main directory, not in the data folder. Same place where your exe, All.gsc and patch01.gs1 files are basically.
