How about Cossacks 3 future? Will be 18 century ships, new units, new nations?

Afaik no ships, maybe units (unlikely), definitely not nations, but they never say it directly. They usually keep silent about these topics but at the same time its not particularly hard to read between the lines.

Wralth, may I ask, what do you think the future of Cossacks 3 is.:)

You guys are basically wasting your time asking the devs for things that will never happen instead of actually supporting the few modders who would do more in less time because we arent focused on bugfixing the base engine.

Quite frankly its basically just modding. We can technically do whatever we want with enough time and resources, so our only issue is getting recognized. I already talked to my contact about the possibility to get some of the big overhaul mods (ocmod3, cavalli, annihilation) featured in official season clash tournaments because we try hard to create a fair and balanced yet fun environment but at the end of the day everyone just plays vanilla.

If there was a tournament with a prize pool based on a mod it would mix things up very much because at least i for my part know that my mod encourages smart army compositions and troop handling mid combat while spamming one unit is a surefire way to lose

If we had more recognition we could turn this game into something like the skyrim of strategy games, where people buy the game more for the awesome mods rather than just the base experience. But that is currently not happening, because not a single one of the high tier players has ever touched a mod, let alone played it in a tourney.

Personally i have lost most of my motivation to keep going at the pace that i had one year ago, simply because whenever i play Cossack Annihilation i stumble over the stupidest bugs (Like Switzerland actually being unplayable for 3 months after i released it) because out of my 1000 subscribers there is very little active community, let alone people who should report bugs to me. It's moments like those when im asking myself why i even bother trying to make a game id like to play if theres nobody to play with, because apparently mirror matching (to keep the game balanced) in vanilla is SO MUCH BETTER /s.

I still hope, that devs will drop to drink horilka and will return to develop cossacks 3:(

If you still think that bothering the devs is the way to go then you honestly missed the entire point of my explanation. They are busy fixing a game that has always been poor on a technical level even more than a decade ago.

Rhayn said that they are busy with other things:)

What more can they do with C3 other than fix bugs? They added all the Nations they are going to add right?

There are two hidden nations in game: 'lit'(huania) and 'tat'(atrs)

They arent hidden at all. GSC already stated that they wont be added due to lack of potential content

I am not going to defend the devs but honestly, they're a small team based in Ukraine and the last update recorded was 8 days ago, found here:

Plus they said that STALKER 2 is being worked on as well and should released in 2 years.

Now that doesn't excuse simple stuff such as Patrol, a mod that even existed on the workshop, wasn't added or the 18th Century ships like the Victoria but I would still cut them some slack, and after all that, I am still hopeful of them working on American Conquest 2 in the background as well.

Even in it's less popular and perhaps buggy state, American Conquest: Fight Back was a staple of being modded back in the day, hell even I made 2 mods for it. It's just a good foundation to base a realistic mod on due to the game's size, scale and unit numbers unmatched by pretty much nothing else besides the Total War series of games, which sadly lack base building, and the Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander type of games.

For a moment, this made me laugh like a freak. Door knob, LOOL.

Think an eventual sequel to American Conquest can do ton better with the same indie team, as you expressed? In reality Cossacks 3 went too high, overhyped itself on Steam to fall on the ground from there. Kind of "would you rather" type of challeng. Keep the company in the dark for another decade or release something for others to see you are still alive.

STALKER 2 date is firm placeholder. Its still in concept phase.

I'm only saying that for the modding community we only need a stable and solid foundation of a game to turn it into something spectacular, that's all.

We don't need nothing fancy or triple A as people have proven already, thrown in the occasional update that adds more content or fixes some massive bug or something once in a while as to not break our mods every week or 2 and I think we can work with that, I would certainly get back to modding for sure at least.

Like I said I already made 2 mods for Fight Back, and I would love to make mods for American Conquest 2 as well.
