How to properly render DDS files for custom units/buildings:

After finding out that GIMP and base Photoshop dont render mipmaps for units properly (which results in blurry custom textures, which tends to become horribly noticeable for some units) i have contacted GSC staff to ask them how they render their texture files. The method they explained works and now all my textures have been updated to proper standards and look exactly like the ones in vanilla (except for being custom)

Here is the excerpt of the relevant information from my chatlog with ungar3, the program you need is Adobe Photoshop:

if you have alpha channel save to DXT5, if no alpha - DXT1 no alpha
    ungar3: Press Sharpening button: https://puu.sh/vY3ua.png
    ungar3: Set Shapren Medium
Now, mipmaps should be sharp enough
Blushing Boo: what program is that though
    Blushing Boo: is it photoshop?

You can always just download my mod and look at the texture files inside. Right now CA has a european archer, bavarian and prussian 18th century pikemen, black knights for poland and england and french fencers.

Yeah 5.11 is ancient as fck with CS6 missing drop down buttons. ^ Tho I stick to CS2/GIMP mix cause I've started with that.
