I disliked combat exp in AQ if a unit killed another unit their melee damage increased. for a fusilier it was +10 damage for EVERY kill and nothing else, so they onehitted themselves each other. 11 kills = +110 melee damage. I could like a system like in command and conquer were are only 3 levels normal, promoted, veteran for a 18c musket that could be promoted: +10 life, +1 musket damage veteran: +10 life, +1 shield, +20% attack speed,
I didn"t know about those features in C2 and AC, but sounds nice ! Another idea, would be to make walls able to be garrisoned, in other words to be able to put soldiers and cannons on walls (otherwise they seem pretty useless...). Oh, and to be able to directly build towers on the wall would be great too ! And one more : adding physics : e.g a cavalry charge would put down infantry (like in LOTR : Battle for Middle Earth, for those who know), but pikemen would be immuned to this due to their natural counter weapon against cavalry).
Female peasants ! (half of population have to be female.) stronger palisade wals with trenches and stakes. trading posts 8for excanging resorces with an allies) Reconning units (fast cavalry man in a start of a game) Historic units like Alkars, kumans, Valahians, Kurucs, Swiss helbeardirs, Conqistadors (elite spanish units) as mercenaries, maybe.... Tents for a desert nations, (cheeper then houses) Small outposts with crew of 10, cannon towers incorporated in a walls or on every corner of the wall. Special hero charaters (Kings from historic period, generals, hetmans, leaders of movements on the battlefield with influence to moral of a troups, Jan Sobietski, Frederick the Great, king Christian of Sweden for expl. 30-years war and 7-years war historic battles. More Turkish troups types (Akinchis, Yayas, Piades, Azaps) Artilery depo has to have active guns too. like a cannon towers . That is logical. cannon with horse-drawn (faster but lighter) surendering flag (in front of a last building with sound sign and all attacks stops.)
Of course you're not a girl because we don' t care of female in a video game, it will look very strange in a game like C3, women don't do war However other units like conquistadors for Spanish or countries like Swezeland would be appreciated !
as far I know peasant in either age of empires 2 or empire earth spawned 50% female and 50% male. Back in these days most work especially in mines and stone/wood cutter camps were performed by men. There could be some female peseants on farms however.
Attack range outlined upon selecting cannon tower, beyond me how such essential feature got laid off from initial release.
I really would like to see : More fortifications (water cannals, trenches (units can load up to the trench), forts (units can load up to the fort), more towers). Tower can fire over walls and palisade or the wall (or palisade) fits to the tower , so there isnt holes between wall and tower. AI will use fortifications more often. Ships will fire a salvo of balls instead of 1 shot. Stronger palisade. Napoleonic 19th century. Ship of the line from 18/19th century. Stop ships sucking on the beach. And the peasants can recycle buildings sorry for my English.
My idea was that will be nice to have a little graveyard near church or mosk with a number of your death troops when you put mouse arrow on it. Simple but nicely touch to the game. it also can be useful for some kind of campain story.
the truth is I would be happy to see any mods at all. Game looks somewhat dead for me now. Yes I know it takes times to create mods but I hoped that some mods (AQ C2 style) would appear until now.
