Hi! I’ve been reading your posts about possible Italian factions. Being Italian, I’d really like to see more Italian factions in the game.

If you want to learn more about what was happening in Italy in the 17th and 18th century I suggest you read this book: https://books.google.it/books?id=Uz...#v=onepage&q=italian military history&f=false. It’s a good starting point. You can use the bibliography for further reading, but most of it is in Italian, since very few foreign historians are interested in that period of Italian history.

As for the factions I’d like to see in Cossacks, maybe in an Italian States DLC, I’d list: the Papal Sates, the Kingdom of Two Sicilies, Tuscany and Genoa. I’d also like Piedmont to be redone properly. As it is now, it's a concoction of different Italian states

It would be impractical to add other minor states such as Parma, Modena, Lucca, etc. since they usually were French, Spanish or Austrian client states. That’s also the case with Milan, which was first under Spanish and then under Austrian rule.

Genoa, which was under heavy Spanish influence, could actually just be an alternative “skin” for Venice, with the same troops and benefits, but different buildings.

It would certainly get the attention of Italian players, the other only game where you can play with Italian factions being Europa Universalis.

Hello @Rotbart91b, welcome to the forum.
More nations in the games are always welcome, especially if they are of the quality of Scotland (it doesn't need a gameplay that unique though).

You might enjoy this thread too which is about Venice : Venice Campaign - Idea, it contains many information on the army, navy and organisation of Venice for wars. I would also advise you to try the mod State vs Country, it doesn't add any nation but changed all units to better suit the uniform of this period, Piemont and Venice have been redone. Well Piemont still has building from all over Italy.

Hi Rotbart, welcome to the forum. As Foeurdr said we shared many good uniforms and information in the Venice Campaign and State vs Country Mod section. By the way, thanks for information. Sorry for replying. I have broken my right leg and now I'm trying to recover. When I recovered , We will talk about Italian States. Grazie.
