Any information on the release date? Is it indeed pushed back to 2016?

 

Oh that's why I asked. I figured if they felt ready to answer the question then they would. If they are not going to give any info yet then the question will just remain there for future reference.

 

My view is that there is a lot of positives to take from the answers provided to the ten questions. Not necessarily in terms of detailed information but certainly in terms of the attitude of the developers.

Everyone has different views about what features of CI, AC and CII were good or bad. For the developers to focus on producing a good base game that will come with easily accessible modding and editing tools is a good compromise position to take.

Even if the base game is purely a better looking version of CI then that will not be a bad thing. CI was a brilliant game. That the developers want us to grow the game through modding is a wonderful attitude to have towards the fan base.

Given all the different forums and modding resources that sprung up around CI, CII and AC the community is resourceful and enthusiastic and there is no reason to think that the same will not happen with CIII. If the development team support the growing of the game then that will make the possibilities of what can be achieved all the greater.

Personally I will never play the base building part of the game as I am only interested in recreating historical set piece battles. Even then I am more interested in map creation and modding than I am in the playing.

It seems to me that in a world where the stylish look of games sometimes trumps the actual gaming we are fortunate that there are developers who recognise that producing a good foundation of a game is the most important thing.

As for the release date. Anyone who ever tried to mod or even create scenarios and maps for CI, AC or CII will appreciate that even small projects tend to take much longer than originally thought. It will be here soon enough and if it is delayed for a long period of time then not to worry. The sky will not fall in. It is, after all, only a game.

 

To choose to create a strong base for modding is a great choice but it requires really good tools. Some games even among the biggest most successful companies have release modding tools that are only easy to use to them but not as much to the general modding community. Let's hope GSC surprises us with something impressive.

2. I do not like empty promises, especially when these happen again.
3. Beginning of the week was on Monday or Sunday. I can not see any real news and updates even on Tuesday.
4. I did not atttacking the Ukrainian people as a whole. Only wrote that they suffered with their empty promises.
5. I do believe, developers are working on the game.
6. I do believe, they can finish their work someday.
7. We are waitnig for the game to come, then do not turn on me Bad Daddio.

I do not remember any defeat from Ukrainians in C1 game becouse I did not play multiplayer for years.
So, your supposition was false.

 

Explanations do not necessarily make attitudes and perceptions acceptable. Just sayin.

 

Until the game is released we do not know anything concrete but I do think you are right and we have to be careful what expectations we have of modding tools.

The tools may make accessing the game mechanics easy. They may make the unpacking of the files that go together to create specific mechanics and the editing of those mechanics simple in terms of how the information is set out inside the files. The tools may make getting a new 3D character from render to in game unit a more fluid process.

But it is like putting a new grip on a tennis racket. It makes it more comfortable to hold but it does not turn you into Roger Federer. So what the tools will never do is turn a novice modder into an expert overnight. It took me ages to learn how to effectively use a 3D modelling programme but like all worthwhile things modding needs patience and practice.

The modding tools and support of the developers will make what is a fiendishly difficult enterprise easier but even with all the tools and support in the world it will still be difficult so it would be wise to bear that in mind when we are given the game and the tools. It may be that we do get something impressive but it does not hurt to temper expectation. In the meantime I need to blow the dust of my 3D animation skills as they have been rusting in the shed since AC!

 

Algeria in release version looks quite strange. That was Ottoman vassal in North Africa which had not any impresive acheivements at that period. Only their pirates made some threats for Mediterranean shipping.

There were more interesting and greater powers at that time.
1. Netherland = greater maritime, mercantile and colonial power
2. Denmark = Scandinavian and colonial power in union with Norway
3. Persia = great power waged many wars against Ottomans or Russia
4. Transylvania/Hungary = Ottoman vassal which took part in more important wars than Algeria
5. Crimea = next Ottoman vassal which was involved in many wars on Ukraine, Central and East Europe.

I hope that devlopers can change Algerian nation or their units known from C1 game.
Algerian Xebecs were horrible over powered and spam of archers, pikes and Mamelukes looks quite unrealistic.

 

Wednesday - and still no news or updates. Why is it so difficult to make some screenshots and upload them for GSC? Looks to me like the game is just in the planning phase.

Sorry but most players don't want an DLC overload, we want a complete game from the start. If the game is released later in 2016 you should have enough time to make a complete product.
At least Switzerland, Hungary, Denmark and Bavaria should be in the game from the start because they are not new to us players.
I buyed all of your games at the release to the full price. I had to rebuy all Cossacks games again because they were not running on the new windows systems. I spent alot money to buy your games in the past. I do not want to buy the same CossacksI addons for CossacksIII again. Please do not milk your customers like other game companies do.

 

Furious Peasant they said the addons would be free. Also if this game uses a MOD starter like Civ V this game is going to be amazing! With easy Moding tools and a strong fan base this game is going to be what ever pleases you. Do you want Denmark, Switzerland, Hungry? all you will have to do is click subscribe in the Moding community in steam and BOOM there those nations are in game. Do you want manned cannons? it will most likely be a subscription away.

 

The news were supposed to be the FAQ changes. I believe.

 

WTF? ive been waiting for this so called "news of the week" and the only thing they say that we dont already know is confirming the playable nations? wow just wow such news much marketing very satisfying!

 

What do you think, will there be any "game application" like this one from cd project to be able to play the witcher 3? I mean i don't know where will we be able to download those those free addons.
