There doesn't seem to be any thread in English to discuss the State Vs Country mod. Let me know if there is already a thread. If not then I have started this one. Are there many English speakers playing State Vs Country? If so, does anyone know any good build orders? Is there a guide in English explaining the mod and how to play it?
I think it’s fantastic. I did put all my changes in as a sub mod, but the last patch broke it. They said as soon as all the nations are finished they’ll add morale, so I’ll hold out till then to play it again.
I started a thread in Modding called ' Seven Years War ', cause thats what it was originally called, but I'm happy for the discussions to be here.
Burak planned to make the presentation of the mod in english but he broke his leg and can't sit for long since then. From my experience (mainly against the AI), the build order is quite similar to the Vanilla at the beginning of the game and start to differ the more you advance to the next age and the strategy you set. Do you want more cavalry ? Then you will go in the blacksmith for techs that reduce the cost of stables and speed up the production. Maybe you prefer to put pressure with more infantry during the late XVIIth, early XVIIIth c. A third basic barrack is the way to go and while we are at it, better upgrade both attacks and defense to the level 6 to reform the soldier, which will change the unit making it stronger and faster to recruit. Now you may plan to go for the late game as fast as possible. In that case rush the early XVIIIth c. and start building several late barracks, then go for the last age. You will probably try to buy time and play defensively. Remember that basic barracks only train militia out of your peasant in the last age (American Conquest system) so be sure to have at least two late barrack before aging up. Also don't worry to do the upgrade for soldier in the early XVIIIth c. as they are the same for late XVIIIth c. There is more limits on several units, first peasant which number is limited by the number of town hall you own, each age up you have a upgrade to increase the limit per town hall. Secondly mercenary with limit of 200 forarcher/grenadier, shooter and light cavalry. Merc. melee infantry have no limit, merc. dragoon don't have limit either except for their rising cost. Having more diplomatic center doesn't raise the limit. There is also a limit for officer which grow which each barrack, but you probably won't be bothered by this. Lastly there is a limit to the number of jaeger you can field which depend on the XVIIIth c. barrack. For infantry, in the XVIIth c. you have a special formation which is a mix between shooter and pikemen Infantry has differents bonus depending on the formation, line give more fire power, square more melee attack for pikemen, hollow square more defense but less attack. Unit in formation can have more bonus with experience, the more they kill the more powerfull they become, up to +2 attack and +3 defense if they kill three time their number. In the XVIIIth c. you will have a special order for musketeer and grenadier to charge with the bayonet, it grant them +5 in melee if they are in formation but they can't shoot anymore. Grenadier will also start throwing their grenade either against building or units. Now for heavy calvary there are some changes, first and most important they have a charge, if they are close enough to the ennemy they will close the gap like light cavalry. In the XVIIIth c. you will have access to the sergeant and cavalry officer, they are necessary for heavy cavalry to make a formation. Russia have a special Cuirassier-dragoon that will be unlocked by upgrading your standard dragoon, it has less fire power but more hp and armor against bullet.
Thank you Foeurdr that helps a lot. You mention a number of things I did not know about the mod. For example, I don't know how to get the hollow square. I did not see a button for that, only for mixed formation. I will look again. Also, I did not know about bonus with experience. In the late 18th C it seems to be impossible to make cavalry into formations. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Also, getting the reserve garrison soldiers out of the old 17th C barracks is hard to impossible. In one game, I put peasants in there but no method of clicking would make the soldiers come out. I don't know what was wrong. It is such a good mod but I would still like to make some suggestions, How do we make suggestions to the creators of the mod? I think a great idea would be a shift-click or a ctrl-click for barracks and stables upgrade buttons. If you have enough resources this would put these upgrades on continuous upgrades, which would mean they just all run through until done after the one click. You would still pay the full price for all. Upgrades are great but if there are too many there needs to be a way to automate them in the barracks and stables if you have saved up money for them.
In the first two age hollow square is not available instead you can make a mixed formation. It is unlocked in the XVIIIth c. when pikemen are out of favor, must be to show the transition from tercio type army to musketeer army and new tactics. For experience bonus look at this (the picture come from a older version so the UI is not up to date) : Spoiler: experience I don't know why you had problem with formation of cavalry in XVIIIth c., cuirassier need the sergeant and mounter officer but the other only the right number. Other cavalry can form with number only and you can even have cavalry from early game and late game in the same formation as long as they are from the same kind of units, heavy/light/dragoon. I never had your problem with garrison musketeer either, I tried sending peasant from different nation without problem so it's not that. The only bug I had happened when I tried to order the peasant to come out of the building, one or two disappeared. In my opinion garrison musketeer are a quick army to mobilize for defence or a small relief force to recruit before launching an assault, otherwise they require too much micro to build, their production rate is also much higher than you can produce peasant to follow and it hinder your economy, lastly they are a much costlier but weaker musketeer (they have less hp and attack, fire slower and their firing cost are higher). If you want to make suggestions go to the thread in the russian forum : State vs Country. I learned everything there by reading what I can and google translating the rest The developpers are Awar and Demoul, you can write in english I'm sure they will be happy to read your suggestions. They often post what they are working on for the next version, lots of eye candy ! ps : By the way, I wait to see your mods or submods Ftoomsh and Francesco_Cavalli.
My mods are not being made or updated at the moment. I am playing State vs. Country (SvC) instead. I will make suggestions to the makers of SvC. They might like some of my suggestions, I hope.

Yes, second is french, whenever you see a white flag with all those golden dots (these are lilies flowers, stylized lilies flowers) there is a huge chance it's the flag from the french monarchy. And then you have on one flag the coat of arms, the shield is blue with three golden lilies (it's from the late middle age), on top the royal crown (it kind of look like a royal crown) and with a bit of research I found that circling it you have the necklace of the orders of Saint Michael and of the Holy Spirit (They are both chivalric orders made to be prestigious like the order of the Golden Gleece). No, they are for the next update of the mod, they are working on the naval side which currently doesn't work in the mod.
You must go to the original thread of the mod in russian : State vs Country In the first page you have all the additions since the release and if you follow the last page you will find pictures often posted by Awar of what they are working on
Some more news on the rework of navy in State vs Country. This time about the way frigate and ship of line of the XVIIIth c. fire. We have two option either fire every cannon in a single volley or fire cannon one by one in quick succession. Here a picture of an early XVIIIth c. frigate (Polish) it succeed earlier frigate type. If I understood well this one has 16 canons instead of the 12 of the first frigate. Video on the way the differents fire order work. https://yadi.sk/i/X1t26pD4Te0ytQ Video with a XVIIIth c. ship of line opening fire. https://yadi.sk/i/u7epp5xyW7IbDg All pictures and information come from Awar in the russian thread.
More pictures from Awar, for the time being this should be the complete roster. (There are more pictures in the original thread) It look like Algeria work the same as Ukraine with no real late XVIIIth c. and Turkey has one but weaker since less units change. Algeria Turkey
