I have resisted upgrading to anything except window XP. Because I did not want to give up my cossacks games. What will the best OP system to use for C3? So I can get it now and be prepared.
"Game features: ... -Windows, Mac OS and Linux support." It's either Windows or Linux and in therms of long time support it doesn't matter which one you install, since you could easily switch in the future. If you aren't dependent on special and complex windows programms, try out Linux, it's free (check first, if your graphics card is well supportet)
Well, I think Windows 8.1 and 10 will be supported most certainly, 7 probably as well. As far as older versions are concerned, I'm not sure, but you shouldn't be using them anyway, since there is no support for them anymore...
Don't worry about that, cossacks team will deal with this because they will not fall on the same issue twice.
I don't know about you but I can play cossacks on every system / pc I had.... (More than 8 pcs and 4 different systems) Even windows 10 works without problems... both steam version and the cd version.
I am pleasantly supprised they are making Mac version. I have Mac so it will be a good reason not to use Windows. Hopefully Mac version will be exectly the same as Windows one.
None of my original copies of Cossacks European Wars, Art of War and Back to War work on windows 8.1 at all. On Windows 7 they would run but i had to close explorer to solve a colour issue. Cossacks 2 didn't even get to the main menu i always got a starforce error and despite trying every known work around could not get it working on 8.1. That said, buying it on Steam solved all of my issues and the games run perfectly fine now. I only got them on Steam a few weeks back and i've been re-doing the campaign. Brings back great memories from like 10 years ago! Gets me very excited for Cossacks 3.
How glad I am that it would support Linux, thanks!!! A great remake is coming. can`t wait but would prefer to get the game later with bugs cleared instead of getting it sooner and buggy.
I do not see where anyone has stated that Linux will be supported? I would say that chances are good but no word that it will as of yet.
So if I install Arch Linux on a computer, the game will work with it, given that I have the right chipset required by the game? If it is so, then it is great. Still have XP but will buy a new computer soon and I dont feel like getting products from Microsoft and Apple. I have been eager to learn and start use Linux instead
Because the game will be in 3D, the best operating system will be Windows because it has the best graphic drivers. The developers don't mention specific version of Windows but the game should be playable on all the supported version at the time of release - 7, 8 and 10.
The game needs to be playable on steam OS I've seen people playing RTS games with the steam controller. Even if the devas don't implement the setup for the steam controller, maybe a modder van. I am definitely expecting to see the game on SteamOS.
